|Our Program: In order to make a larger impact in our community Humane Society of the Ozarks is participating in a new, community-wide program called the Animal Care Education (ACE) Committee. ACE is co-sponsoring by the Humane Society of the Ozarks, Spay Arkansas, Animal League of Washington County and For Pet’s Sake. By collaborating with other animal welfare organizations we are able to make a larger impact. This education program focuses on proper pet care, the importance of spaying and neutering, how to properly approach an unfamiliar animal and what to do if animal abuse is suspected. We believe educating our youth will be a life long impact.
This committee consists of volunteers from each of these organizations as well as other animal-loving people. The meetings are generally held the 2nd Tuesday of each month as needed. This is open to anyone interested in attending. For information about joining this committee or volunteering to help with the presentations, please send an email to the committee so you can be added to the email list and receive directions to the meeting.
ACE’s Goal: To give an animal care presentation to as many 5th grade students in Northwest Arkansas as possible. This includes Washington, Benton and Madison counties. As this program expands and draws more volunteers, it is the intention of the committee to make presentations to the general public as well.
