At Humane Society of the Ozarks, we work to ensure pets and families are well matched. That is why we use a specific process for matching rescues with people. 

It is in the best interest of the animal and the adopting family.  

Our Process:

• Once we receive your application, a member of our team will reach out by phone or email within 1–2 business days.
• During the call, we’ll answer any questions you have about the dog, walk you through our adoption process, and learn more about your home and lifestyle. We love playing matchmaker and are here to help you find the perfect fit!
• After that, we’ll schedule a meet-and-greet so you can bring your family—and even your current dogs if you’d like—to meet the pup in person.
• If it feels like a match, you’ll be able to complete our virtual adoption contract and pay the adoption fee online.

General Information: 

• You must be 18 years or older
• Adoption applications must be filled out prior to meeting pet.
• Home visit may be required depending on the pet's history.
• You must provide the name of your current or potential veterinary clinic and they will be contacted as a reference.
• All members living in home must meet pet prior to adoption.
• We do a trial adoption to ensure a great fit for everyone. 

Adoption Fees: 

• Adult Dogs: $175
• Puppies: $200
• Cats: $100
• Animals in high demand will require a higher adoption fee (ragdolls, Russian blues, Poodles, Goldens, etc). 
• Adoption fees include: fully vaccinated (rabies, DAPP, bordetella), Spay/Neuter, heartworm test (if old enough), 1 heartworm prevention tablet, goody bag with food/treats, & more.
